Some talk in the mainstream media about this recently, lots of talk about it in the independent media. Some Nordic countries are almost completely cashless with other European countries having plans to take cash out of the system on future timetables.

Do you think the American people would go for this?
Do you think it would work?
Do you view it as a loss of freedom?

My answers; 1. Not sure?, 2. No!!. 3. Yes!!.

I have doubts that it could ever happen under any circumstances, if it did people would revolt. Wit tat being said I could be totally wrong about that.

Completely cashless would, I believe, leave an electronic record. Which means all of the off the books, trade, and such would become much harder. Make it interesting to see how the underground economy would work then.

A cashless society would only hurt pimps and drug dealers.

That's why I'm opposed to a cashless system.

The only time I use cash now is for Craigslist purchases or when I go to redneck hillbilly towns to fish, so if they took cards, no problem.

I would think illegal transactions could be made with Canadian loonies for the hardcore big brother phobia types?
